How to Apply
Undergraduate Students
Eligibility to the Department of Physics and Astronomy requires students to meet specific minimum criteria, as established by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Minimum Criteria for Admission As An Undergraduate Student
Students must have a high school diploma with the following specified courses:
- 4yrs English
- 2yrs Lab Science (including chemistry or physics)
- 2yrs Algebra I & II
- 2yrs History or Social Studies
- 1yrs Geometry
- 2yrs Foreign Language (same language)
- 1/ 2yrs Trigonometry
- Academic electives (to equal at least 17 total credits)
Most programs require students to take a mathematics course during their senior year of high school. An equivalency test may also be required of some students.
