Bennett Hall houses the faculty, staff, and student offices, classrooms, and many of the departmental research laboratories. The Frontier Institute for Research in Sensor Technologies, or FIRST,(located in ESRB, the Engineering Science and Research Building) also houses some of the departmental faculty, staff, students, and research laboratories.

Students can choose their research topics from a wide range of theoretical or experimental areas, including, but not limited to the following:

Multidisciplinary research projects are available with faculty in the Departments of Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Biochemistry, Computer Science and Geological Sciences.
