Research Interests: The cognitive mechanisms that impact student reasoning in the physics classroom, novel methodologies for gaining insight into these mechanisms, and network analysis.
J. Caleb Speirs is a Signature and Emerging Area Research Fellow and a Doctoral Candidate. He has a M.S. in Applied Physics and a B.S. in Engineering Physics from the Colorado School of Mines, having done work in the field of scanning laser microscopy. He has taught physics at various community colleges in the greater Denver area prior to coming to UMaine. He has two darling daughters and enjoys gardening.
