Dr. Stetzer and Dr. Bruce awarded NSF grant
Dr. MacKenzie Stetzer (Physics and Astronomy) and Dr. Mitchell Bruce (Chemistry) and collaborating PIs and co-PIs from North Dakota State University, Penn State Greater Allegheny, and the University of North Florida have received a five-year, $2M award from the National Science Foundation entitled “Developing, testing, and disseminating reasoning chain construction tools for use in physics and chemistry”. The development of this methodology was led by J. Caleb Speirs (Ph.D. in Physics from UMaine, 2019) as part of the work described in his dissertation, “New Methodologies for Examining and Supporting Student Reasoning in Physics”; Dr. Speirs is now a collaborating PI at the University of North Florida.
