Comins featured for Minecraft-based “What if” Project
Prof. Neil Comins was featured this week in an article in UMaine News. Comins is a collaborator in an NSF-funded research project incorporating alternate models of Earth’s properties and surroundings into Minecraft, based on books he has written (including What If the Moon Didn’t Exist? and What If the Earth Had Two Moons?) that hypothesize these scenarios. The goal of the project, titled “What-if Hypothetical Implementations in Minecraft,” is to use the Minecraft environment to help teach about these effects on how the physical properties of Earth and spur interest in science by playing with these parameters.
