"Reflections from Outbursts of Supermassive Black Holes at the Centers of Galaxies"

One of the most incredible recent insights into the lives of galaxies in their ‘home' clusters comes from studying the effect of black hole eruptions on the environment around galaxies that are hosts to supermassive black holes. The space-based Chandra X-Ray Observatory is the best way to study the impact these outbursts have on galaxy clusters and the surrounding gas because it can see X-ray cavities, some larger than the entire Milky Way, created by the eruptions. This talk will feature the latest x-ray and radio observations - beautiful images that contain the information for researchers to measure the colossal energies and dimensions of these outbursts.
